This month in savings we were able to save our normal $500 with an additional $250. We also added an additional $39 because Christy likes even numbers (it’s actually $22,000 and change, but when the change is over 50¢ I round up) and we earned $11.12 in interest.
In vacation we saved our normal $200 minus $29.88. We had to transfer a little bit to cover the automatic withdraws for the kids college savings so that we didn’t overdraft our checking account.
In our emergency fund we saved our normal $600 and were able to put in an additional $800!
Christy and I still haven’t decided what we are doing long term with the money from my pay increase, but this month we decided to transfer it to our emergency fund.
Due to me posting this so late last month, my timing is off so we didn’t earn any interest on our vacation and emergency fund accounts since the last post. With the kitchen nearing the end, I’m trying to get back on track with our blog.
Here are our current totals.
Savings | $22,001 |
Vacation | $3,400 |
Emergency Fund | $11,516 |
