Remember when I sold tons of stuff on Facebook Marketplace over the summer? The whole process made me realize how silly it is to buy new gadgets for my children. So many families are selling lightly used toys, for a fraction of the price offered in stores.
My first purchase was a Radio Flyer 4 in 1 Trike. I eyed this particular toddler bike with my last 2 children, but the steep price ($80) always prevented me from making the purchase. One day while uploading something I was selling on Facebook, I noticed a 4 in 1 trike listed for $30. And it looked brand new! I immediately sent the seller a message and arranged a pick up time. She told me that her son had only used the bike once or twice. It had been safely tucked away in their garage for a year or two. We picked it up, and it was in perfect condition! Amazing! I decided to save this gift for Christmas. Our youngest is going to LOVE it!
Then last week we attended a birthday party. The family had a Little Tikes Cozy Coupe in their yard. My baby boy fell in love with it. Look at the joy on his little face!
I found the car online for $50 brand new. I really didn’t want to spend that much money on a toy. After a quick Facebook search, and I found a Cozy Coupe in excellent condition for only $15! I picked it up and strongly considered giving it to my baby for Christmas too. But I couldn’t wait to let him have it, and caved as soon as I got home. He loved it!
As we head into the holiday season, don’t forget to check your local Facebook yard sale page for used toys. I have been amazed at the deals I have scored! Hopefully you can find some awesome stuff too!
